Satellite context and reviewed comparison signals

Explore a free, live Sentinel-5P atmospheric layer alongside source-backed operating sites and the strict comparison zones EcoSpace has reviewed for matching measure, unit, boundary, period, and uncertainty.

Read the evidence standard

The coloured satellite layer is atmospheric NO₂ context—not a company-emissions score.

Sentinel-5P observes a regional tropospheric NO₂ column. It cannot establish a facility’s emissions, CO₂ footprint, disclosure accuracy, or company risk. Red and orange circles are reserved for a separate, human-reviewed same-unit comparison; none are created from weather data, imagery catalogue records, or company-wide disclosures.

Reviewed comparison zones

0

Published only where a reviewer documented a material, same-unit comparison.

Mapped operating sites

13

Source-backed reference points, shown in teal and not scaled by emissions.

No reviewed comparison zones yet

The live satellite layer remains useful regional context. A coloured discrepancy zone appears only after a reviewer saves a compatible, source-linked assessment.

How a circle earns its colour

1. Comparable inputs. The reported and satellite-derived values must be the same measure and unit, linked to a reviewed operating site, and cover overlapping periods.

2. Material difference. The server calculates the difference and exposes a zone only when it clears both the documented uncertainty and a reviewer-selected significance threshold.

3. Human publication. An administrator must record the method, source URLs, quality flags, and review note before a red or orange zone can appear.

4. Screening, not a verdict. A zone prioritises research. It is not an assertion of misconduct, a legal finding, or a rating of environmental performance.

Why NO₂ is separate

NO₂ can help identify regional combustion-related air-pollution context. It is not CO₂e, a surface concentration, or a company-level measurement. EcoSpace keeps it visibly distinct from the review-only discrepancy circles.
